Through an evolution spanning over 130 years, it is now clear that Infrared Sauna has cemented itself at the centre of a rapidly evolving world of health and wellbeing. As against a traditional sauna, which uses steam or hot coals to heat the air around you, infrared saunas use specifically designed carbon fibre heaters that emit infrared light absorbed by the body, providing a deep soothing warmth at lower temperatures than traditional sauna.
Infrared radiant heat baths gained popularity towards the latter part of the 19th century (in fact King Edward VII of England demanded them in all the Royal palaces), whilst the modern versions of Infrared Sauna were revived during the 1970's in Japan.
Today we are fortunate to be able to enjoy all the well known health benefits of Infrared sauna in the comfort of our own homes. As the body absorbs infrared light, it warms internally, allowing cellular/cardio vascular repair through increased blood flow, detoxification through perspiration,
and a general sense of tranquillity through relaxation. Symptoms associated with rheumatoid arthritis, inflammation and general soreness can be greatly reduced by regular Infrared Sauna use.
